Canon’s C300 Used by Laforet on His Latest Short – Mobius
As you may have heard, the twittergeist/blogosphere was blowing up yesterday based on two big announcements. One by Canon, one by Red. Both companies revealed new digital cinematography cameras aimed at budding and established filmmakers.
Canon’s C300 was widely anticipated since the company’s 5D/7D DSLRs have been all the rage for videographers for several years – despite all the shortcomings. The C300 is Canon’s first foray into meeting the demands of their video customer base. You know, large sensor, audio inputs, professional outputs, better codec etc. Read all the great new specs here.
For a stunning example of what you can achieve with this new Canon, check out DSLR aficionado/ King of the DSLRers Vincent Laforet’s newest short film, Mobius. The short was shot entirely with the new c300, and I think you won’t be dissapointed with the results. It certainly doesn’t hurt that it was wonderfully lit, edited, acted and scored.
