Tom Kane – Producer/Assistant Director
If you don’t know the name Tom Kane, you should probably check out IMDB. He has been closely associated with many great films like Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, Prizzi’s Honor and Kramer Vs. Kramer – to name but a few. I had a chance to chat with Tom about his career and some of his memorable moments last Friday. It was a great conversation and it was all done through iChat – so I was able to record it for all of you. The quality isn’t the best – I’m hoping to get that resolved soon – but the content is great.
Some of the things that Tom had to say would be what I consider “gold” if you are looking to embark on a career in Film and Television production. Especially if you’re looking toward getting into the dramatic side of the industry. His stories paint a solid picture of what it’s like to climb the ladder in the production business.
If you haven’t had the chance please visit Tom’s website. He offers a three day workshop for film production and it’s definitely something to look into, especially if you’re serious about getting into the business. The workshop is open to anyone interested in film and is practically a one-on-one session with the master himself. http://filmtvworkshops.com/
