The RED Scarlet makes an appearance at CES
I’ve been following RED for several years now. They have a truly innovative concept in camera design and it has been impressive since the beginning. Personally, I am very interested in the RED Scarlet based on its size, functionality and impressive cinema quality – in such a small form factor. But like everyone else . . . I’ve been waiting.
I got an email from a friend today and there was this link from Engadget. Ted Schilowitz from RED introduced a prototype 2/3″ Scarlet with REDmote and a working Bomb EVF. The embedded video from Engadget is impressive enough, but for those of us worried about functionality of such a small form factor – skip ahead to about 7:25 in the video and Ted describes the modularity of the Scarlet. This has me ready to purchase one as soon as possible. If this camera can do what they say it does . . . I’m selling a kidney (or maybe logically just my HPX-500 instead of a much needed body part) to get one.
I know my Orlando friends know Ted Schilowitz – send me an email with some contact information. I need to talk with this man!
