Film Schools

Why attend a film school?

Film schools will teach you the fundamentals of working in the television and film production industry.  This includes storytelling, production, editing and most importantly, the business of production.  The courses offered will take place in a traditional classroom setting, however the focus of a film school is to put the student in the environment of making a television show or motion picture.  This allows the student to “learn by doing,” often in real-world scenarios.

Film School Programs

The programs offered by film schools will vary from school to school, so make sure that you go through each school’s page on Production Apprentice and visit their website.

Some film schools specialize entirely on the art of film making, while others offer a rounded curriculium in the business of motion pictures and television production.  Online programs are also available that may allow some students the ability to participate from home.

The various instutions offer degrees in many areas, so make sure that you do your research to find the degree that suits you best. Production Apprentice will also offer tips for choosing the right school for you from time to time – so come back often.
