The Zacuto booth was rocking this year at NAB and for good reason. These guys have some of the coolest toys for your HD SLR cameras. It’s amazing to me to watch the endless crowd of people gathering around this booth in the central hall. Luckily, I had the opportunity to snag [...]

Doddle might not be the newest 35mm camera that records on SD cards or the newest software that removes objects from your videos in real-time, but you will soon come to love this innovation in production. Doddle’s slogan is “The Easy Guide to Production” and nothing could be more true.  Doddle is the future of [...]

Videography Magazine lists it’s BEST OF NAB 2010

Share
The Videography magazine writers came up with their list of the best of NAB 2010 aka The Gaffers Cup (that’s not true).
I have to agree with many on their list including Avid and Adobe.  I would’ve added GoPro Video as well for their affordable, wearable HD cams.

Sony drops another 35mm video camera bomb [NAB 2010]

Share
With weak fanfare, Sony dipped their toe in the 35mm video waters today in a way that made Panasonic’s “clay model” seem legitimate.
Being at NAB didn’t help us see this new beast, and if it’s possible, there are actually even less details about this camera. All we know is that it will be available “by [...]

Share
John and I just shot a private review of Avid’s latest Media Composer 5 software. They hope to release the product in June. It was abundantly clear that Avid has listened to it’s customers.

One surprise today at NAB. Panasonic has announced it’s Micro Four Thirds camera, the AG-AF100. Now you can capture video with all the beauty of HD SLR cameras (shallow depth of field, attractive soft focus) without all of the problems.
If you remember, HD SLR cameras have some serious flaws. Namely audio recording, highly compressed [...]

The good folks at Prompter People have designed a sweet little prompter that uses an iPad that’s scrolled remotely with an iPhone or iPod touch. We’re getting some footage of it in action tomorrow, but this thing looks amazing. Details are scarce. Stay tuned.

Varizoom’s Crossfire may be a decepticon

Share
Varizoom has launched the Crossfire. A more appropriate name may be Optimus Prime. Why? It’s a stabilizer, tripod, monopod, 3 point shooter, and a floorwax. It’s specifically made for the HD-slr shooter.
It’s not something that can be described in words. Stay tuned for this incredible little device for under $700.
