Oliver Peters – Film/Video Editor, Colorist and Post Production Supervisor
I thought it might be about time to work on the post production side of the business and do an interview with someone who is very well known in the industry. I am talking, of course, about Oliver Peters. Oliver is a film and video editor, colorist and post production supervisor working out of Orlando, FL. He is a contributing editor/writer to Videography, DV and TV Technology as well as being an all around great guy. We spoke for quite a while and just like my interview with Stephen Campbell, we just about filled up all the P2 cards in my camera. Unfortunately, that means that I had a lot of chopping to do in the edit to keep this “YouTube friendly,” but that only means that I will have more in-depth segments from Oliver to release later in the year. This video that you will see below, talks about working as an editor in the Orlando market as well as the differences between editing a feature film versus working on commercial productions. We go over what Oliver thinks it takes to be a good editor and some advice for those of you that are just starting out. This is a great video to watch if you are interested in the post side of the business.
Oliver writes a blog of his own at digitalfilms.wordpress.com – please visit his site for more in-depth information, product reviews and other post production related articles.
