Ellen Fox – Host of The Rotten Tomatoes show
I got the pleasure to sit down with Ellen Fox, host of the Rotten Tomatoes show on Current TV. You’ve definitely heard of the Rotten Tomatoes website, but you may not have heard of the comedy show yet. Well, let me be the first to tell you that it’s really great. The concept is simple. Review the shows on TV that the website normally berates/praises, and add in some witty banter and a song. What you get is an excellent show that can save you a buck before you head out to the movies on the weekend.
To be honest, I’m a fan of the entire lineup of Current TV shows, from the 60 minutes, news-documentary show Vanguard (made famous by Laura Ling and Euna Lee’s capture in North Korea), Infomania (a funny combination of the Daily Show and The Soup), Supernews! (animated topical news comedy) to the user generated content. Check your local listings (I’m pretty sure it’s like channel 2359 or something way up there).
I asked Ellen to tell us about how the show is produced, how they come up with their movie selections, and her advice for budding comedy writers or future on camera talent. Enjoy this two part interview.

Good show, Joe. I’ve enjoyed the Rotten Tomatoes show for some time now, and this interview is spot on for an ambitious videographer like me. Thanks!
