YouTube goes 4k
There’s been a lot of news out of YouTube lately. At the risk of sounding like a vessel for their PR department, I’ve got more news. YouTube will allow 4k uploads shortly.
This is from the website that got us all used to the crappiest videos ever made. They now want high-end content creators to upload their original resolution footage from cameras like the RED One. 4k resolution is roughtly 4 times larger than HD. So, if you have incredible internet speeds at your home/work ’cause you live in Europe or Japan, you can stream 4k and watch it chug in 1080p, because WHO HAS A 4K MONITOR? You might as well just watch it in 1080p and save yourself time.
Well at least it’s forward thinking. The Numa Numa kid will not look any better in case you were wondering.
