YouTube allows “Unlisted” Video option – Perfect for client vids

YouTube is allowing an option for “Unlisted” videos now. Previously, you had to select “Private” which limited it to 25 people.  Now, if you select “Unlisted” you will be given a secret link for you to send out. This is a great option for uploading client videos to your YouTube account that you don’t want searchable, and you don’t want to have to select each person who’s going to watch it. The video is not searchable, browsable, and won’t show up on your YouTube channel page. Only those with the URL can view it.

YouTube is probably not your preferred method for having clients view rough drafts, not when there’s such services as Sorenson’s 360 service, but let’s be honest, you’ve had to do it before. Now it’s better.

I just used this today to hide some video’s I didn’t want popping up on the “related videos” section. Great tool.
