It looks like Autodesk is stepping up to try to capture that market share of editors that felt “abandoned” by the release of FCP X last year.  Even though Apple is releasing new updates for FCP X bringing it closer to how FCP 7 used to be, there is still a void in that market that companies like Adobe, Avid and now Autodesk are trying to fill.

The new Smoke looks to provide a better user experience and give editors a new way to harness the power of the Smoke software. Pretty interesting to me.
