Is there anything better than German engineering? Our friends over at b-roll.net have teamed up with German digital filmmaker Friedhelm Fischer to show us how to construct a tripod mounted camera slider on the cheap. Friedhelm is a total trip to listen to, especially when he says “Wideo tripod.”  Mr. Fischer must know me, because he made purchasing the pieces you need for the slider idiot proof. We look forward to more DIY tips from this mad scientist of video production.  Make sure to watch the end of the video with the sweet Canon 7D dolly shots. The final price is about $174 minus the tripod heads and sticks.  I hope the next tutorial’s in German, because it will sound that much more menacing.
