Capture your most extreme moments with a wearable/mountable Go Pro HD Hero [NAB Video]
Go Pro is new to the broadcasting scene and has decided to take NAB by storm. At NAB 2010, Go Pro decided to park themselves in the middle of the central hall and wow the passers by with their amazing footage. Go Pro started as a consumer camera company that provided surfers, snowboarders and other extreme sports enthusiasts with the ability to capture their wild, death-defying acts on video. It didn’t take long before large-scale production companies got the word that these little cameras could work some miracles. Soon after, Go Pro’s cameras were capturing footage for shows on networks as big as Discovery.
These cameras can attach to anything, including helmets, surfboards, mountain bikes, motorcycles or race cars – among other things. They record HD video as an MPEG 4 file using an h.264 codec, they’re water proof up to 180 – 200 feet, they’re simple to operate with just a push of a button and they’re under $300. I’m pretty sure I’ll be purchasing one for my summer surf trip.
