Who we are
John X. DeMaio
I began my career in television in 1997 and I haven’t looked back since. To me, video and film production isn’t just a career – it’s a way of life. I began Production Apprentice with the hope of being able to help people who share my passion – video and film production. I have had the opportunity to be involved with many different types of productions and have met a vast number of wonderful people who helped tailor my career. Every day is a learning experience for me and my goal is to bring that same experience to you as you begin your journey. I have spent a long time honing my skills by asking questions, searching for answers in books and watching a LOT of behind-the-scenes videos in the “bonus” sections of DVDs. Production Apprentice is the result – a website that brings all of the basics of video and film production to one place. A FREE resource for anyone interested in pursuing a career in video and film production.

Joe Dorsey
I have been working in this business since 1999. I started my career at WOFL Fox 35 and realized just how much fun production could be. Then, out of the blue, the station switched owners and the stress of non-stop news put an end to all of that fun. I was determined to form my own company and bring a little of that fun back into this business.
When John asked me to help him with Production Apprentice, I jumped at the chance. We made a lot of mistakes along the way and there was a lack of resources to help. I am happy to be a part of something that is truly helpful – something that would have been such a great asset to me as I was starting out. Thanks for visiting!
Paul Gramaglia
Paul C. Gramaglia is arguably the most experienced videographer in commercial parabolic flight. With more than 100 ZERO-G missions in his portfolio, Paul has been behind the camera for the majority of microgravity video projects flown aboard G-Force One. His keen eye for filming complex microgravity scenes in parabolic flight was honed by more than 25 years of earthly experiences in the production field. Born into a family with a rich history in the multimedia entertainment industry, Paul learned as a teenager the trades of audio engineering, cinematography, and production from his father and uncles. At the age of 16, Paul worked with his family on projects varying from television commercials to feature length documentaries.
Recently, Paul has expanded his involvement in Educational and Public Outreach (E&PO) activities through his involvement with Northrop Grumman Foundation’s “Weightless Flights of Discovery,” a program that sponsors educators in the Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math (STEM) fields to develop lesson plans around their experiences aboard a parabolic, microgravity flight. Paul’s E&PO activities have also allowed him to work in the Ecuador’s Galápagos Islands, where in partnership with Exploration Solutions, Inc, co-produced conservation videos and news release videos for Rollins College in Winter Park, Fl.
